Presently, Petrobrazi operates at exemplary environmental and performance standards, capable of refining the entire equity crude oil production of OMV Petrom. In a strategic move towards sustainability, the Romanian oil company plans to construct 55MW of green hydrogen projects at its Petrobrazi refinery, located 60km north of Bucharest. This initiative involves the installation of two electrolysers, one with a capacity of 35MW and the other with 20MW. The renewable hydrogen generated will be utilized in the production of bio-based sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and biodiesel, marking a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions in the aviation sector.
