Grounding Systems

Spina Group designs and supplies industrial grounding systems that guarantee the safety of goods and people, using high quality components to protect against atmospheric discharges for earthing systems.

Grounding means the set of actions and systems aimed at bringing a metallic element to the electric potential of the ground. It is important to ensure grounding where dangerous situations can occur when parts of the electrical system that are not normally live, due to failures or unforeseen events, acquire an electrical potential with respect to the ground.

Earthing, in particular, protects people from the risk of electrocution, in practice from “indirect contacts”. It consists of one or more interconnected dispersers placed in the ground and a series of earth and protection conductors which connect the aforementioned disperser to the user appliances.

Our Offer

Ground Rods

A wide range of earth rods, such as round section ground rods, T section ground rods, L section ground rods, X section ground rods, ground plates and accessories, designed according to the size of the currents that it disperse into the ground.

Lightning Rods

Spina Group offers a wide selection of accessories both for the protection against direct and indirect electric shock that ensure protection of the system from atmospheric discharges.

Equipotential Connections & Accessories

A wide selection of clamps, plates, turnband, bonding bars, terminal boards, bar insulators and bridge cables suitable for earthing stainless steel, copper and nickel-plated brass pipes.

Bare & Insulated Conductors

Tools for electrical connections, electromechanical applications, transformer rooms compliant with national and foreign regulations. Sections and shaping different from the standard can be supplied on request. The products comply with the main national and international standards and with specific customer requests.

Earthing Pits

Spina offers a wide selection of inspection sumps in anti-corrosive plastic, available with removable bottom, carriageable cover, suitable for cable and earthing connection.

Surge Arresters

Overvoltage surge arresters (also called SPD – Surge Protection Device) are mechanisms that allow to protect electrical equipment from overvoltages by absorbing the generated current. They can also be inserted in an already existing system in order not to modify the operation of the system.

Latest successful projects

Oil&Gas

Quiluma and Maboqueiro

The project involves the development of the Quiluma and Maboqueiro non-associated gas fields through two offshore platforms, pipeline connections and an onshore gas treatment plant designed to feed the Angola LNG plant in Soyo. Its objective is to enhance the value of Angola’s natural gas resources, ensure a stable gas supply to the LNG plant and strengthen the national energy value chain.

Oil&Gas

Hail & Ghasha Gas Development

Hail & Ghasha Gas Development is one of the world’s largest sour gas development projects. It includes the development of the offshore Hail, Ghasha, Dalma, Nasr, SARB, Bu Haseer, Shuweihat and Mubarraz fields, together with the construction of new offshore infrastructure and onshore gas processing facilities. The project is also designed to become the world’s first net-zero sour gas development. Package 2 (PKG-2) covers the construction of the onshore gas processing facilities. Its main scope includes sour gas processing plants, sulfur recovery and by-product handling units, compression systems, utilities and auxiliary infrastructure, as well as connections to the offshore installations and the UAE’s national gas network. The project aims to increase the United Arab Emirates’ natural gas production, support domestic energy self-sufficiency and boost exports, while reducing the carbon intensity of operations through the integration of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies. Once completed, the development is expected to produce approximately 1.5–1.8 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (bcf/d), in addition to condensate and sulfur, making a significant contribution to ADNOC’s long-term gas strategy.

Energy

Taiba & Qassim Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT)

The Taiba & Qassim Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Projects are projects developed in Taiba and Qassim, Saudi Arabia. The programme includes the Taiba 1, Taiba 2, Qassim 1 and Qassim 2 power plants, each with a capacity of approximately 1,800 MW. The objective is to increase the Kingdom’s power generation capacity, ensure a reliable energy supply and support Saudi Arabia’s transition towards a more efficient and lower-emission electricity mix.
