The Bapco Modernization Programme (BMP) is on track to become one of Bahrain’s most significant projects to date. Additionally, it seeks to enhance energy efficiency, maximize the utilization of heavy crude oil components, diversify product offerings, and ensure compliance with environmental standards.

ALBA Project – PP and PEL plants

The project consists of two plants: one for producing linear polyethylene (PEL) and another for producing polypropylene (PP), each with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons. These technologies are leading in the market and are the first of their kind to be implemented on the Iberian Peninsula.

New Hydrogen Production Unit – Porto Marghera

The project aims at implementing two hydrogen production lines for the Venice biorefinery in Porto Marghera. Its primary objective is to increase the availability of hydrogen at the biorefinery to fulfill the requirements of the EcofiningTM unit in terms of quality, quantity, and availability, all while optimizing energy efficiency. As part of a phased transition to producing decarbonized hydrogen, these units are designed to significantly reduce the emission of fossil CO2 into the atmosphere by utilizing biogenic charges recirculated by the EcofiningTM unit.
