PEMEX is investing in constructing two new coker plants at the Tula refinery and Salina Cruz refinery, scheduled to go online in 2024, to phase out fuel oil production. The Salina Cruz cracking refinery, located in Oaxaca, Mexico, is a non-integrated cracking facility owned by Petroleos Mexicanos. It commenced operations in 1979 and boasts a Nelson Complexity Index (NCI) of 8.1. Works on the Salina Cruz unit began in 2022. The plant is expected to contribute to the elimination of fuel oil and the increased production of ultra-low sulfur gasoline and diesel at the refinery.

The Rhourde El Baguel LPG Extraction Plant is a facility designed to treat associated gas from oil production and recover LPG, condensate and dry gas. The project is linked to the Rhourde El Baguel production complex, one of Sonatrach’s Oil & Gas assets in Algeria. It has a planned processing capacity of approximately 10 million m³/day of associated gas. Expected output is estimated at around 1,000 t/day of LPG, 300 t/day of condensate and 8.7 million m³/day of dry gas.

The Rumaila Project – ESP OHTL Ringmains is an Oil & Gas project developed within the Rumaila Oil Field, in southern Iraq. The project is part of the wider ESP Ring Main Project, aimed at developing ring-main electrical infrastructure and overhead transmission lines to power wells equipped with Electrical Submersible Pumps. Its objective is to provide stable power from the Rumaila Power Plant to the ESP wells, reducing the use of diesel generators, improving operational reliability and supporting the field’s long-term oil production.
