Located onshore Libya, the Abu Attifel and NC 125 fields are active in conventional oil production. Their peak production occurred in 1994, having already recovered 92.14% of their total recoverable reserves. Economic projections indicate that oil extraction will continue until these fields reach their economic limit by 2046. Presently, these fields contribute approximately 5% to Libya’s daily oil output.

The expansion of Western Desert Gas Complex (WDGC) is located in El-Amreya, Alexandria, Egypt. Once operational, the new Train D will increase WDGC’s production capacity to 1.5 bcfd, up from the current 950 MMcfd, with a capacity of 600 MMcfd. In a strategic move towards sustainability, the Romanian oil company plans to construct 55MW of green hydrogen projects at its Petrobrazi refinery, located 60km north of Bucharest. This initiative involves the installation of two electrolysers, one with a capacity of 35MW and the other with 20MW. The renewable hydrogen generated will be utilized in the production of bio-based sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and biodiesel, marking a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions in the aviation sector.
