An innovative ultra-deep-water offshore project, the Kaombo project in Block 32 aims to extract oil from six fields linked by 300km of pipelines to FPSO vessels. Operating at depths up to 1,950 meters, it utilizes advanced technology for its 658 million barrel reserves, with a production capacity of 230,000 b/d, making it Angola’s largest subsea well system. The Assiut oil refinery in Egypt is undergoing a significant expansion and modernization effort to meet the rising demand for petroleum products in Upper Egypt. As part of the refinery upgrade, new facilities including a naphtha complex and a hydrocracking complex will be added. This expansion and modernization initiative will further boost the refining capacity of the existing refinery. Presently, the refinery processes 4.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of distillation crude.
